Job Summary
Conduct the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system, including installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. Perform work aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad mounted structures, requiring skillful climbing with Lineman's climbers. Respond to trouble calls by being available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour during emergency assignments, including emergency restoration outside normal hours. Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and ability to direct the work of others when assigned. Requires at least one year of experience and physical ability to perform essential duties.
Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the Line Mechanic position
- Must be able to effectively interact, communicate, and direct the work of other co-workers
- Must be available to perform overtime and emergency work as required
- Must be able to climb poles skillfully with Lineman's climbers
- Must be able to direct the work of others when assigned
- Must be qualified to hold and possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV
- Must be able to live within one hour of the reporting location
- Must successfully pass the written assessment
- Must successfully pass the overhead physical agility assessment
