Job Summary
Line Mechanic D assists in the installation, maintenance, removal and inspection of overhead and underground electrical transmission and distribution facilities; operates line trucks and related equipment; climbs poles and handles rigging; performs ground person duties under supervision; progresses through D-100/D-200/D-300 training to operate specialized equipment and perform energized work up to 260 volts under supervision; must obtain a CDL beginner permit within 60 days and possess a valid state driver’s license; location based around Bucyrus, OH with a 30-mile relocation window; strong emphasis on safety, preparation, and compliance with company procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid state driver’s license
- CDL beginner permit within 60 days
- Willing to relocate within 30 miles of Bucyrus Service Center (Bucyrus, OH)
- Ability to operate line equipment under supervision
- Demonstrated safety awareness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Physical ability to perform heavy work as described (lift 50-100 lbs occasionally)
- Baseline knowledge of overhead/underground line work and equipment inspection
