Job Summary
Conduct underground utility line detection and marking using magnetic sensing equipment and Sure-Lock Utility Pro software. Interpret utility maps, read 811 system tickets, and apply color-coded spray paint to identify electric, water, gas, and telephone lines. Pinpoint locations in various weather conditions using shovels while adhering to strict federal and state guidelines. Document work via digital camera and laptop, participate in safety meetings, and provide timely reports to management. Escalate equipment or customer issues immediately and communicate general utility information to customers via telephone or tablet. Maintain flexibility for daily scheduling changes and travel based on project needs.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- 2-4 years of previous line locating experience
- Must be able to provide a copy of certificates of completion for the Pipeline Operator Qualification (OQ) training
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
