Job Summary
Conduct pre-shift huddles and lead Team Leaders and production crews on one or more lines to ensure production schedules are met safely and on time. Coach, mentor, and train staff while enforcing GMPs, safety procedures, and company standards to maintain a safe working environment. Coordinate department schedules, products, and manpower to run the plant smoothly, troubleshoot equipment issues, and utilize the OMS system and Cerebro tracking tool to achieve targets. Provide feedback on performance, prepare objective reviews, and assist in staffing levels and candidate interviews. Act as a backup to the Shift Leader when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Must be a demonstrated leader who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team to meet demands established by the schedule
- Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication skills, along with simple mathematical abilities
- Ability to manage difficult people
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexible to work days, afternoons, nights & weekends if needed
- Working knowledge of GMP's, HACCP & O.S.H.A
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Desired Qualifications
- BA degree OR 1 year + of hands-on, leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing, but open to other industries
- Expereince developing people and teams
- food/bakery experience
- Post-secondary education
- Ability to identify and suggest new opportunities (think outside the box)
