Job Summary
The Line Lead, Build is a front-line supervisor in the Inspection Center responsible for directly managing a team of hourly associates to achieve production and quality targets. Duties include coordinating movement of cars through the center, meeting inventory production goals, coaching and developing team members, ensuring adherence to Carvana’s policies and Quality Control standards, training employees, and partnering with the Inspection Center GM to decide whether inventory should be repaired or rejected based on cost and overall vehicle quality. The role emphasizes safety, efficient production, teamwork, and effective communication, with requirements including a high school diploma or GED, computer experience, 18+ years old, a valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 60 pounds, ability to stand for long periods, overtime/weekend availability, and the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience using computers
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently
- Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
- Ability to work variable schedule(s) as necessary
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both written and oral
- Demonstrated functional expertise in reconditioning process
- Demonstrated understanding of lean principles
