Job Summary
Direct and oversee construction, installation, and maintenance of the distribution system while ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Assign personnel and equipment to maximize productivity, lead daily tailboard meetings to reinforce safe work practices, and perform line work when needed. Maintain accurate time, material, and system records, resolve customer inquiries with professionalism, and manage all aspects of team leadership including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews. Operate substation and line apparatus for testing and implement new technologies to stay ahead of the curve. Lead the crew that powers Cobb with a focus on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 8+ years in electric utility line construction/maintenance
- 3+ years as a Journeyman/First Class Lineman
- Advanced knowledge of Live-line work (overhead & underground)
- Advanced knowledge of Distribution systems & substations
- Advanced knowledge of GUFPA regulations, safety standards, and first aid practices
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to operate substation and line apparatus for testing
- Valid Class A Georgia CDL (with endorsements)
- Georgia Flagging Certification
- Cobb County Excavating & Trenching Certification
- ITS Operator Certification
- 4-day work week (4 x 10-hour shifts)
