Job Summary
Safely operate tractor-trailer combinations to transport trailers between service centers and turn-point locations, load and unload freight using approved equipment, and secure cargo to maintain load integrity. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, communicate with dispatch regarding route updates and hazards, and complete drop-and-hook operations. Maintain compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and state transportation regulations while reporting accidents and completing electronic logging documentation. Requires valid Class A CDL, current DOT Medical Card, and minimum three years of verifiable Class 8 tractor driving experience. Full-time, year-round position with consistent Monday through Friday schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Must provide a clean MVR (dated within 30 days of application)
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable Class 8 tractor driving experience
- Working knowledge of DOT Hours of Service regulations
- Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
- Forklift certified or ability to become certified
- Ability to read and follow directions in English
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and occasional rain
- Ability to safely complete assigned routes and required documentation
- Must pass: Pre-employment drug screening
- Must pass: Background check
- Must pass: FMCSA Clearinghouse registration and requirements
