Job Summary
Line Cook is responsible for preparing and serving food in a safe and efficient manner, while upholding brand standards and following provided specs. Duties include sanitation/organization, stocking/putting away orders, checking prep lists, ensuring food safety temperatures, maintaining a clean workspace, washing dishes, trash removal, floors/hoods/oven cleaning, and helping with ticket preparation. Skills and duties emphasize teamwork, following recipes, memorizing station builds, using POS/KDS systems, and maintaining urgency to serve food at the correct temperature. Must work well with others, stay composed under high stress, and communicate effectively. Preferred qualifications include food handler certification and bilingual English/Spanish proficiency, plus knowledge of fundamental kitchen skills and safety practices.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum: Punctual
- Able to communicate with teams primary language
- Comfortable working with a team
- Basic math knowledge (addition/subtraction)
- Able to take constructive criticism
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Good verbal communication skills
- Comfortable with technology (POS systems, printers, KDS, etc.)
- Able to multitask and prioritize on the fly
- Able to lift 25+ pounds
- Able to stand for 8 hours
- Able to be stationary for multiple hours
- Able to move quickly in the restaurant
- Able to access all areas of the restaurant
- Able to work in excessive heat and cold in kitchen environment
Desired Qualifications
- Food handler's certification
