Job Summary
Line Cook I at Soho House Chicago is responsible for ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, seamlessly preparing food and sauces, and assisting Senior Chefs with service. Thrive in a fast-paced environment, influence the team to stay calm during busy services, and execute all menu items properly from prep to plate while delivering top-quality dishes from all stations. Set up stations per Kitchen guidelines, assist with inventory, monitor wastage and temperatures, support cost-savings efforts, and contribute to Soho House standards for speed and consistency. Attend Cook House trainings and mentor newer staff, while maintaining sanitation and organization of the kitchen and storage areas. Salary is listed for Chicago: $27.50/hour (annualized to $57,200).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a fast pace, upscale and approachable environment of professionals
- Strong understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Food handler’s certificate
- Flexible schedule and ability to work morning, night, weekend and holiday’s
- Proactive, team-player who can work well independently as well as on a team
