Line Cook (Part-Time)

Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts, while ensuring all food meets high-quality standards and follows recipes for consistency. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and storage areas, monitor equipment condition, and report issues to management. Assist with inventory management, ordering supplies, and training staff on kitchen operations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to prepare orders timely and adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines. Work in a fast-paced environment standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and handle hot equipment and sharp knives. This role requires a Food Handlers Certification and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Cook
- Able to read and write English (ESL)
- Excellent culinary skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow recipes and cooking techniques
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to Learn and accept constructive feedback
- Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State requirements)
- Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations
- Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity
- Must be effective in handling problems in the kitchen including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary
- The position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays
Desired Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
