Job Summary
Prepare menu items according to established recipes and quality standards while maintaining consistency in portioning and presentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following all food safety, sanitation, and SafeServ guidelines. Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth café operations and support customers when needed. Assist with kitchen setup, breakdown, catering, and special events as required. Participate in training, cross-training, and continuous improvement efforts. This role supports daily kitchen operations at Wonderstate's Madison Café, a 2010 and 2025 Roast Magazine Roaster of the Year committed to honoring relationships and championing a collective future.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, twisting, and repetitive movement
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment
- Weekend, holiday, and occasional evening availability required based on business needs
- Participation in staff meetings, deep cleaning, catering, and special events as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to communicate respectfully and work collaboratively with others

Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
