Job Summary
Prepare high quality food to order per recipe card and plating guide, including roasting meats, operating char-broilers, making sauces, and executing techniques such as deep-frying, pan-frying, and griddling. Set up and break down the line per specification while handling and storing food in a sanitary fashion. Maintain a clean environment and recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products. Respond promptly to guest needs and approach all encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with scheduling needs. High School diploma or related experience preferred; ServSafe certification desired.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Ability to convey information and ideas clearly
- Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Ability to work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
- Effective ability to communicate orally and in written form effectively with internal and external customers
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Proper lifting techniques
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel or a related field
- ServSafe and Food Handler Certifications
