Job Summary
As a Grill Cook/Carver at Tender Greens, you’ll be responsible for preparing all food items to order following standard recipes and procedures, ensuring proper portioning, sanitation, and storage. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, maintain equipment and work areas, assist with stocking, learn new menu items, and collaborate with the Chef and team to deliver a high-quality guest experience. Key duties include safe operation of kitchen equipment, following sanitation guidelines, assisting with inventory and items restocking, communicating effectively with guests and teammates, and performing other kitchen duties as assigned. The role requires at least 2 years of restaurant line experience, strong knife skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a willingness to learn. A culinary institute or formal training is preferred, and a Food Handler’s Card is required. Must be 18+ and able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work a flexible schedule. Compensation includes an hourly rate of $17.87 plus tips, with benefits like free meals during shifts and employee discounts.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years’ restaurant industry experience on the line
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Understanding professional cooking and knife handling skills
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and in a team environment
- Graduate of a culinary institute, military school or formal on-the-job training preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly with guests and team members
- Food handler's card required
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs
