Job Summary
Line Cook responsible for preparation and cooking of food for hospital cafeteria and Room Service, following recipes, HACCP guidelines, and production tickets. Duties include preparing patient meals, visitors and staff orders, catering event meals, assembling plates with attention to presentation, ensuring patient satisfaction, maintaining sanitation, and applying various cooking methods (baking, frying, grilling/charbroiling, sautéing, steaming). Requires a High School diploma or GED (Associates preferred) and 2 years of experience in food preparation (healthcare or contract cooking acceptable); ServSafe certification is preferred. The role operates Mon-Fri with two possible shift blocks and every-other weekend. Location: Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, Council Bluffs, IA.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years food preparation experience
- Experience in healthcare or contract cooking preferred
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
- Ability to read, write, and follow recipes and tickets
Desired Qualifications
- Associates Degree preferred
- ServSafe Certification preferred
- Experience in healthcare food service preferred
