Job Summary
Season and cook food according to recipes while weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients using various kitchen utensils and equipment. Regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters, observing and testing foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently. Maintain production knowledge and attention to detail, producing products in a cost-effective and hygienic manner. Assist Lead Line Cooks in a support role, ensuring kitchen equipment is properly maintained and facilities comply with MIC, local, state, and federal sanitation regulations. Create and maintain a positive work environment by promoting team member relations and reporting issues to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to obtain a Class III B gaming license
- Two (2) year certificate from an accredited culinary program or minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen
- Valid WA State Health Card/Food Handler permit
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of all applicable food sanitation regulations
- Knowledge of health & safety standards, and safety regulations as required
- Ability to read and understand recipes, food abbreviations, weights, and preparation techniques
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
- Ability to follow procedures and take directions
- Ability to always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
- Skilled at handling kitchen utensils including but not limited to knives
- Skilled in basic math; demonstrate ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions
- Read, write, and speak English fluently
