Job Summary
Check recipe cards, verify use records, and present food efficiently while monitoring line setup before meal functions. Prepare food to consistent quality standards, date containers, rotate items per SOP, and maintain proper temperatures. Monitor equipment maintenance, ensure "clean as you go," check pars for shift use, and manage buffet stocking. Control food waste, loss, and usage by assisting with plans to correct food cost problems. Note out-of-stock items and shortages to prevent service disruptions.
Required Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent
- One to two full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s)
- Knowledge of cooking and the practices and procedures of a kitchen in order to perform non-repetitive analytical work
- Full range of mobility and the ability to travel 30-50 feet on a regular basis throughout the day
- Ability to lift food cases and metros weighing up to 70 lbs
- Ability to hear equipment timers and communicate with other staff
- Ability to see that product is prepared appropriately
- Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs
