Job Summary
Line Cook responsible for preparing meats, seafood, vegetables and other items across broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of equipment; ensure 100% responsibility for quality and maintain standard portion sizes and recipe specifications; portion and plate items with garnish, ensure proper presentation, and maintain clean and sanitary work stations; assist with food prep during off-peak periods and support other back-of-house areas as needed; follow closing procedures, attend staff meetings, and contribute suggestions for improvement; must have knife handling skills and the ability to work nights in a fast-paced kitchen; compensation starts at $16/hour with associated benefits.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years full-service restaurant kitchen experience preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Culinary degree preferred
- Must be at least 16 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to work nights
- Must possess strong understanding of cooking methods & procedures, and knife handling skills
- Ability to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
- Ability to read & follow cooking directions and other instructions pertaining to the position
- Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Basic written & verbal communication skills
- Must be organized with a self-starter & motivated work ethic
- Must be a team player
- Must be able to stand, bend, stretch, lift, and carry heavy materials up to 50lbs
