Job Summary

Prepares and garnishes all food orders per menu specifications, cooking sauces, soups, and hot entrees using standardized recipes with high-quality ingredients. Taste tests and evaluates foods before serving, portions items into standard sizes, and garnishes with appealing presentation. Coordinates menu completion with servers, sets up meals for forecasted covers and reservations, and corrects food cost problems to control waste. Maintains clean work areas, coolers, and storage zones, requisitions food with approvals, and ensures all equipment and perishables are properly dated and rotated. Serves safe, appealing food while resolving guest issues with empathy and teamwork. Works seven days a week, 24 hours a day, rotating shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED
Ability to speak, read and understand basic cooking directions
Ability to follow standardized recipes and plate presentation
Knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations and etiquette
Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Ability to follow prep list
