Job Summary
Cut and debone chicken carcasses as they move down the cone line using knives or scissors. Maintain personal protective equipment and adhere to all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations. Follow directions and perform additional duties as assigned while working unsupervised in a cold, damp environment with strong animal odors. Stand for eight hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and work nights, weekends, and holidays. This role supports Wayne-Sanderson Farms, the nation's third-largest poultry producer, as part of a team of over 26,000 members feeding a growing global population.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, doing rapid and repetitive work in a cold and damp environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate
- Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers
- Ability to perform all tasks as assigned by members of management
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours
- Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Relative poultry industry experienced
- Basic math functions and skills
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45oF, 4oC)
- Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift
- Ability to be exposed to noise (>85 decibels), CO2, and moving production
- Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 10 pounds repeatedly, and climb steps
- Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crawl, and bend
- Ability to work in an environment with strong, raw animal odors
