Job Summary
Operate and maintain a diversified fleet of vehicles and motor-driven tools, performing preventative maintenance on brakes, electrical systems, and transmission components. Diagnose, repair, and test hydraulic and electrical equipment including aerial lifts, generators, and pumps while analyzing trouble reports and categorizing repair requests. Order specialized parts, estimate repair costs, and negotiate contracts with outside vendors. Maintain inventory levels in the motor vehicle parts room and adhere to established safety practices. Requires a valid driver's license, Class A CDL preference, ASE certification, and ability to lift 100 lbs. This temporary role offers $17–$35 hourly pay with medical, dental, and vision coverage. Based in Lake Villa, Illinois.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state driver's license
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Non-negligent driving record
- Meet 300 lbs. weight limit due to safety restrictions
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation Physical
- Ability to lift and move up to 100lbs
- Certification in 5 categories of Mechanics
- Certification by the National Institute of Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) in Medium Heavy Trucks or equivalent certification from an automobile/medium truck manufacturer (e.g., Ford, GM, Mack, Kenworth, International Daimler Chrysler), trade school, or equivalent state license/certification
- Minimum age of 18
- Acceptable driving record
- Valid driver's license
- Satisfactory attendance record and performance ratings in present job
- Satisfactory results from a security investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) strongly preferred
