Job Summary
Policy Analyst develops written materials on consumer justice topics, tracks outside research on priority policy areas, analyzes proposed legislation, prepares issue briefs and testimony, and supports coalition campaigns. The role collaborates with OCJ staff and partners to support OCJ's 2027 legislative agenda, may involve some federal policy work, and requires presenting findings to diverse audiences. The position emphasizes equity and justice, with opportunities to work remotely when not in Salem, and occasional in-person meetings at OCJ’s Kiln coworking space or other locations in Salem/Portland. The role starts in September 2026 and ends June 30, 2027, with a schedule that may include evenings/weekends during the legislative session.
Required Qualifications
- BA in a relevant topic. A graduate degree is a plus
- Experience in policy analysis and research, including familiarity with state and federal data sources
- Experience with the Oregon legislative process
