Job Summary
Own and improve the Lightning Network and Bitcoin payment infrastructure, handling everyday upgrades, fixes, and larger stack improvements. Work hands-on with implementations like LND and CLN to manage payment channels and liquidity, while analyzing payment flows and building forensic monitoring after incidents. Strengthen crypto system security through key management and HSMs, ensuring accurate transaction accounting with the finance team. Evaluate new Bitcoin and Lightning technologies to integrate protocols like payjoin and Nostr into production, contributing to internal libraries and open-source tooling alongside product and design.
Required Qualifications
- Several years building software professionally
- Track record of shipping real things
- AI is part of how you build (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar)
- Deep understanding of the Lightning Network protocol
- Deep understanding of Bitcoin fundamentals
- Hands-on experience with at least one Lightning implementation (LND, CLN, Eclair, or LDK)
- Strong with our backend stack, Node.js and TypeScript
- Comfortable working in Python
- Crypto-native
- Self-driven
- Spot the opportunity and push it forward instead of waiting for a roadmap
Desired Qualifications
- Contributed to open-source Lightning or Bitcoin projects
- Experience with payment channel management and liquidity optimization
- Run your own node
- Hands-on with newer Lightning and Layer 2 tech
- Experience building payments at scale
