Job Summary
Operate pickup, utility, and stake body trucks under 1 1/2 tons to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers to and from various locations within Government reservations and public highways. Load or unload trucks with or without helpers, make minor mechanical repairs, and maintain good working order. Carry materials, build simple objects, and perform heavy manual labor using hand tools like picks, shovels, and chainsaws. Clean equipment, buildings, and grounds, and maintain chain link and barbed wire fencing. Ensure completed work orders are properly filled out and returned to management while supporting the Safety Plan through adherence to requirements. This position is Mission Critical and may be part of an emergency management/response team. Requires a valid state driver license or CDL, high school diploma, and ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver license or commercially licensed (CDL)
- Ability to provide a favorable motor vehicle report and background check
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently using sound judgment
- Ability to perform tasks normally associated with vehicle operations
- Ability to operate heavy trucks in a reliable manner with public safety in mind
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
