Job Summary
Operate pickup, utility, and stake body trucks under 1 1/2 tons to transport materials, merchandise, equipment, or workers between Government reservations, public highways, and various establishments. Load or unload trucks, make minor mechanical repairs, and perform heavy manual labor including carrying materials, building forms, and using hand tools like chainsaws and wheelbarrows. Clean equipment and grounds, maintain chain link and barbed wire fencing, and ensure completed work orders are properly filled out. Support the Safety Plan through personal involvement in training and adherence to safety requirements. This Mission Critical position may require participation in emergency management or response teams during lockdown conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid state driver license or commercially licensed (CDL)
- Ability to provide a favorable motor vehicle report and background check
- Ability to follow directions
- Ability to work independently using sound judgment
- Ability to perform tasks normally associated with vehicle operations
- Ability to operate heavy trucks in a reliable manner with public safety in mind
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
