Light Equipment Operator

Job Summary
Operate light construction equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and forklifts safely and efficiently while performing routine maintenance and inspections. Assist with loading and unloading materials at job sites, report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately, and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work closely with site supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time, follow all safety protocols, and perform manual labor tasks as needed. This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, and cold, with exposure to loud noises, dust, and debris. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, proven experience with light equipment, and strong mechanical skills for minor repairs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Proven experience operating light construction equipment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols
- Ability to perform physical labor and lift heavy objects
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
- Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project needs
- Ability to work outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., OSHA certification)
- Experience in a similar role within the construction industry
- Mechanical skills for minor equipment repairs
