Job Summary
Check and communicate oil levels, ensure proper tire inflation, and inspect fluid levels as necessary. Complete vehicle inspections, install new oil drain plugs and filters, and clean lubricate fittings. Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency, test-drive vehicles using diagnostic tools, and diagnose automotive systems including engines, transmissions, and brakes. Communicate directly with the Service Advisor regarding additional service needs and execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willing to submit to pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Previous experience at an automotive dealership
- Strong understanding of the service drive
- Years of experience vary per position
