Lift Station Mechanic

Job Summary
Lift Station Mechanic responsible for troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical problems and inspecting/repairing lift station pumps, valves and related components. Includes cleaning sewer lines as assigned, participating in general lift stations/building maintenance, and maintaining accurate work records. Requires operating a vehicle, heavy equipment, hydraulic crane, jet machine and mechanic/electrician tools; interacting with supervisors, coworkers, other departments, city employees, contractors and customers. Must be physically able to perform moderately demanding tasks and lift up to 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum of three years of mechanical maintenance experience in lift stations and collection systems, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Must obtain a certification for confined space entry within one year of employment
