Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate the daily operation of the lift operations team, ensuring the proper and safe operation of all passenger ropeways and conveyors. Assist with hiring and training of seasonal staff while supervising all work in accordance with established safety and inspection procedures, including start-up, loading clearances, ramp maintenance, and daily log sheets. Give directions to staff, respond to lift or guest-related incidents, and assist in the investigation and reporting of accidents. Manage the parking lot and tube time operations, monitor staff sign-ins and sign-outs, and manage inventory of all equipment and supplies. Ensure SPR policies are adhered to regarding safety, environmental management, and Z-98 regulations. Maintain a professional image and ensure staff meet company standards in dress and readiness. Attend staff safety meetings with timely follow-up on agenda items and minutes.
Required Qualifications
- At least one previous season as a Senior Lift Operator at a major destination resort within the last 5 years
- A team player with proven supervisory and guest service skills
- Self-motivated with a strong personal work ethic and a keen eye for detail
- Proven ability to show up, be consistent, have a good attitude and act with integrity
- Able to work outdoors in all weather extremes and capable of heavy, repetitive work
- Valid BC class 5 driver's license with clean abstract
- Strong skier/snowboarder
- Completed Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Highly knowledgeable in operation of passenger ropeways
- Have a strong knowledge of the Z-98 code, BC Safety Act, and regulations as applied to passenger ropeways and conveyors
- Physically fit and free from injuries; able to lift 20kg for more than a few moments
- Previous experience in Snowmobile operations
- Lift 150 certification
- Related Ski Resort Management or Tourism Management education
- Related experience in Lift maintenance or Outside Operations
