Job Summary
Perform scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance on all lifts (chair lifts, surface lifts and passenger conveyors) in accordance with company requirements and CSA Z-98 code; start-up and monitor lift operations during summer; respond to problems and emergencies; maintain records using CMMS and related tools; mentor and oversee apprentices and other workers to ensure safety and efficiency; participate in preventative maintenance programs and support other departments as needed; ensure safety procedures are followed and assist in emergency situations such as lift evacuations; operate in outdoor, variable-weather environments and routinely coordinate with supervisors; required certifications and training include Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright, BC Class 5 license, and Lift 151/152/153 courses; ability to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts; strong knowledge of OH&S, CSA Z-98 code, and elevating devices regulations; possess excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright certification
- BC Class 5 driver's license
- Lift 151, 152 and 153 courses through Selkirk College
- Good communication skills and ability to work with others
- Able to meet physical requirements (lifting up to 25kg, climb towers, etc.)
- Able to work in all weather conditions
- Strong desire for a career in the ski industry
