Job Summary
Perform site-specific lift maintenance tasks including sheave repair/replacement, electrical diagnosis, and component replacement such as bull wheels, motors, and gearboxes. Conduct haul rope repairs, welding, and fabrication while clearing snow from critical components up to 50 ft. Ensure lifts meet ANSI B77 compliance and safety standards through daily inspections, accurate documentation, and adherence to manufacturer guidelines. Lead lift evacuations and safely unload passengers during failures, while collaborating to minimize downtime in challenging mountain conditions. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 3–8 years of lift maintenance experience
- Comprehensive understanding of lift systems, including rebuilding and servicing line gear
- Able to identify and gather appropriate tools for most maintenance tasks
- Proficient in safe rigging of towers and line gear
- Capable of leading lift evacuations (including APU mode) and safely unloading passengers during failures
- Contributes to task planning, including setting priorities, identifying required parts, and estimating staffing needs
- Trains team members in rescue procedures, including fallen worker recovery and safe tower work practices
- Knowledgeable in safely handling and troubleshooting electrical systems ranging from 110V AC to low-voltage DC
- Produces clear, accurate, and detailed documentation
- Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office, and PLC interfacing
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Professional demeanor with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems, communication platforms, and reservation tools
- Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds
