Job Summary

Inspect, test, and monitor ski lift machinery and components while executing scheduled maintenance on tools and buildings. Respond to operational problems, determine causes, and implement repairs following ANSI B.77 and state policies. Train and coach level 1 and 2 mechanics while expanding your own certifications to achieve supervisory status. Log all maintenance and repairs on log sheets, inform the manager of work in progress, and organize shop and terminal areas. Remove snow from machinery and buildings in winter. Perform duties outdoors in changing weather conditions or indoors at lift terminals and motor rooms, including aerial work up to 75 feet.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Broad knowledge of ski lift equipment, terminology and operational procedures
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and their operation
  • Advanced knowledge of major lift components such as gearboxes, engines, motors and lift physics
  • Intermediate knowledge of lift construction procedures and the order of operations
  • Ability to ride a snowmobile
  • Ability to ski or snowboard

Desired Qualifications

  • Welding and fabrication with steel, aluminum and stainless is a plus
  • Rigging experience, weight estimation and construction experience is a plus
  • A college degree in a relatable field
