Job Summary

Implement all programs for Maplewood Senior Living residents to maximize their quality of life while providing outstanding customer service to residents, families, and visitors. Select, schedule, and lead therapeutic activities appropriate for all ability levels, coordinate special events including family gatherings, and post daily schedules in public areas. Assist with completing resident history forms, manage program supplies, and facilitate monthly activity committee meetings for resident input. Provide daily afternoon socials or happy hours, conduct the annual Maplewood theme, and ensure compliance with all safety and emergency procedures. Maintain appropriate communication with the Lifestyle Director regarding staffing or program concerns. Valid driver's license required; weekends and holidays work as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university or satisfactory completion of two years of college, with major work in recreation, occupational therapy, gerontology or a related field, or two years of full-time experience in the recreation field with an adult population
  • Must possess a passion for working with the senior population and improving their quality of life
  • Excellent communication, organization and time management skill
  • Basic typing skills and computer knowledge; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Publisher and creative software
  • Valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Must be capable of using up to 50 pounds occasionally while lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as assigned
  • May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired
