Job Summary
Lifestyle Activities Assistant supports the Lifestyles Activities Director in planning, organizing, and directing activities that include social, physical, spiritual and educational development as well as recreational activities. Responsibilities include developing and executing annual and monthly activity programs to provide entertainment, intercommunication, exercise, relaxation, and fulfillment of residents' psychological, social, and spiritual needs; overseeing activities to meet community expectations; assisting with specialty programming (e.g., matchmaking, travel club, expedition); monitoring the programming budget; encouraging art, hobbies, and crafts; contributing content for the community newsletter; ensuring safety according to policies; fostering social interaction among residents; encouraging resident participation in religious and intellectual activities; assisting the Residents’ Association when requested; maintaining confidentiality and professionalism; and completing required trainings and tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Some college study; degree in recreation or human services-related field a plus
- Effectively read, write, and communicate in English
- Valid driver’s license
- High-energy, service-oriented personality
- Demonstrated organization, multi-tasking, communications, and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as business needs dictate
- Patience, tact, enthusiasm and positive attitude towards older adults and their families
