Job Summary
Monitor swimmers and pool activities to prevent accidents, enforce safety rules, and regulate admission capacity. Act swiftly during aquatic emergencies by performing water rescues, administering first aid, CPR, and AED. Conduct routine facility checks for hazards, ensure safety equipment is operational, and assist with cleaning tasks like skimming and vacuuming. Maintain order by communicating with patrons and collaborating with staff on drills and schedules. Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays while holding current lifeguard certification and completing required training within 60 days.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 16
- Strong swimming skills
- Proficiency in water rescue techniques
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent observation and situational awareness abilities
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized certifying agency (e.g., American Red Cross), or willingness to acquire one, required
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- AED certification
- Oxygen certification
- Child Abuse Prevention training
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
- Athlete Protection training
- Sexual Harassment training
- Must be able to perform all physical requirements of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. at a time
