Job Summary
Monitor the pool and surrounding facility to ensure safety and enforce regulations regarding showers, food, drink, and conduct. Maintain accurate records per NYS Health Department codes, attend staff meetings, and review emergency procedures. Secure substitutes when needed, report 15 minutes prior to shifts in proper uniform, and maintain all required certifications. Work weekday hours at the YMCA of Greater Rochester, reporting to the Aquatics Director to uphold mission values and facility standards.
Required Qualifications
- 15 years of age or older
- current YMCA Lifeguarding or Red Cross Lifeguarding certification
- ability to obtain YMCA Lifeguarding certification within 60 days of hire date
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- AED certification
- Oxygen Administration certification
- Basic First Aid certification
