Job Summary
Lifeguard monitors swimmers, enforces pool rules, and provides assistance to protect life. Responsibilities include rescuing swimmers in danger, performing first aid, CPR, and rescue breathing when needed, assisting with swimming lessons and aquatic programs, maintaining cleanliness and equipment, and supporting general facility maintenance. The role requires monitoring of the swimming area from towers, handling safety concerns, documenting reports, and upholding Salvation Army policies during in-service trainings. Must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and patrons, and work varied shifts.
Required Qualifications
- 15 years of age (required)
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED
- American Red Cross Oxygen Administration
- American Red Cross Bloodborne Pathogens certification within 90 days of employment
- Experience working with the public
- Experience as a lifeguard (preferred)
