Job Summary
Monitor pool activities and ensure member safety at McCarthy pool while enforcing all safety guidelines and remaining alert throughout shifts. Conduct rescue and emergency medical procedures as needed, prepare activity and incident reports, and perform pool maintenance. This role reports to the Associate Director for Aquatics and Risk Management and requires current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification including CPR and First Aid. Lifeguards must attend at least two in-service trainings annually. The position is on-campus based with an hourly pay range of $17.55 to $21.45.
Required Qualifications
- Current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard certification (to include CPR Professional Rescuer and First Aid)
- Self-motivation
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Expected to attend at least two in-service trainings each year
