Job Summary
Conduct daytime lifeguard shifts and teach, guard, and coach aquatic programs while ensuring member safety and satisfaction. Maintain pool chemicals and cleaning supplies for water and deck equipment, uphold health and safety regulations, and develop lesson plans with progressive evaluations. Record all activities and collaborate with staff and volunteers in the aquatic area. Maintain and upgrade current certifications, attend scheduled training events, and provide excellent customer service. This role supports the YMCA's mission to nurture potential and foster healthy living within the community.
Required Qualifications
- Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR C
- National Lifeguard Service Certification
- Lifesaving Society, and/or YMCA Swim Instructor Certification
- current and satisfactory Police Records Check
- Vulnerable Sector Screening Report
