Job Summary
Deliver high-quality swim lessons that build confidence and teach essential water safety skills while providing vigilant lifeguard supervision to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants. Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and facility incidents, maintaining aquatic spaces and equipment in accordance with YMCA policies. Create welcoming, inclusive experiences that encourage participation and belonging while building positive relationships with members, families, volunteers, and colleagues. Work part-time on evenings and weekends to ensure programming needs are met. Join a supportive aquatics team dedicated to strengthening communities through teamwork, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Canada Swim Instructor or Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification
- National Lifeguard Pool certification
- National Lifeguard Waterpark certification, or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Current Standard First Aid certification
- Current CPR-C certification, issued within the previous 12 months
- Airway Management and Oxygen Administration (AMOA) certification, or willingness to obtain
- Three professional references
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check Check/Vulnerable Sector Search
