Job Summary
Conduct lifeguard duties by rescuing clientele and providing CPR, First Aid, and defibrillation as needed while maintaining high fitness levels. Recognize distress members in the water and execute life-saving procedures using all safety equipment during stressful situations. Work flexible schedules including nights and weekends while demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function under pressure. Maintain current certifications through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, including CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid. This role supports Augusta Health's mission-driven, independent, nonprofit community health system located in Fishersville, Virginia.
Required Qualifications
- appropriate certifications in lifeguard training through the American Red Cross and American Heart Association
- current certification in lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer and Standard First Aid and defib certified
- level of fitness and ability to rescue clientele and provide CPR and/or First Aid, defib as needed
- at least 16 years of age
- working knowledge of all safety equipment and how to execute a life save in various stressful situations
- ability to pay close attention and recognize distress member in a body of water
- interpersonal and customer service skills
- ability to work under stress
- Willingness to work flexible schedule including nights and weekends
- Lifting/pushing
