Job Summary
Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of patrons using the Academy's swimming pool, including constant surveillance, emergency care, and enforcing regulations. Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with diverse populations, and proficiency in lifesaving techniques. Must maintain cleanliness and operational integrity of pool equipment and conduct water quality tests. Certifications in CPR and lifeguarding techniques are mandatory, and the role demands quick response to emergencies with a focus on customer service.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Must possess skills in the application of lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques.
- Knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures required.
- Red Cross Advanced Lifesaving certificate and CPR certification required every 2 years.
Desired Qualifications
- Some college experience helpful.
- Experience in an institutional or campus setting
- Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting is preferred.
Additional Requirements
- Successfully complete a criminal background check (reviewed every 5 years)
