Job Summary
Ensure safe swimming conditions by overseeing assigned zones and preventing accidents through vigilant scanning. Carry out emergency procedures and maintain a nurturing environment for patrons. Required certifications include lifeguard and CPR, along with the ability to effectively communicate and maintain cleanliness in pool and locker areas. Must work scheduled shifts and approve substitutes with the Aquatics Director.
Required Qualifications
- YMCA Lifeguard or Red Cross lifeguard certification
- Lifeguard, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and AED certifications
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Advanced swimming and rescue skills test must be passed

- Experience in lifeguarding or swimming instruction

- Teamwork skills
