Job Summary
Lifeguards are responsible for the safety of everyone at the waterfront for all swimming and boating activities, coordinating with the Aquatics Director to plan engaging activities, and ensuring safe operation of waterfront facilities and equipment. Requires current lifeguard certification with waterfront skills, boating/instruction safety credentials or willingness to obtain, minimum age of 18 by July 27, 2026, and ability to interact positively with youth ages 7 to 17. Summer dates July 27 – August 21, 2026 with pre/post period, room and board included; typically involves supervising campers and staff and collaborating on waterfront programming.
Required Qualifications
- Current lifeguard certification with waterfront skills
- Boating instructor certification or GSNENY Small Craft Safety course, or willingness to obtain
- At least 18 years old by July 27, 2026
- Ability to interact positively with youth ages 7 to 17; prior youth-focused work or volunteer experience preferred
- Ability to build and maintain positive professional work relationships
