Job Summary
Patrol designated water areas to monitor swimmers and beach activities while enforcing safety rules and regulations. Provide immediate assistance and emergency care to individuals in distress, communicating effectively with visitors to guide them on water safety. Collaborate with other lifeguards and emergency services as needed, maintaining equipment and keeping the beach area clean. Document any incidents that occur on your watch and report them to supervisors for investigation. This role requires current lifeguard training certification, CPR, and first aid skills, along with strong swimming abilities and physical fitness. Candidates must possess calm decision-making under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- at least five (5) CXC subjects including English and Mathematics
- Current certification in lifeguard training, CPR, and first aid
- Strong swimming skills and knowledge of water rescue techniques
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform rescues and provide assistance as needed
