Job Summary
The Lifeguard II position combines responsibilities of a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor I. Key duties include monitoring swimmer activities, providing assistance, enforcing safety regulations, performing rescues, and administering first aid. The role also involves instructing students in aquatics, developing lesson plans, and providing individualized feedback. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
- American Red Cross Water Park Lifeguard certification within first 90 days
- American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification to include AED
- American Red Cross Oxygen Administration certificate
- American Red Cross Blood borne Pathogens certification within 90 days of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience as a lifeguard is highly desirable
- Effective communication skills with the public, co-workers, and supervisors
- Demonstrate ability to relate positively and energetically with staff, clients, members, and customers
- Ability to work with children, parents, and staff in a capacity of leadership, counseling and education
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency with freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and proficiency demonstrating butterfly is preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work varied shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays and split shifts
