Job Summary
This position is responsible for maintaining active surveillance of the entire pool area, knowing and reviewing all emergency procedures, and responding immediately to emergencies. Lifeguards enforce pool rules, document safety checks, maintain accurate records, and check water quality. Key qualifications include current lifeguard certification, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and readiness for physical demands. The role also requires participation in YMCA meetings and training.
Required Qualifications
- Current nationally recognized certification including First Aid, BLS, and Oxygen Administration.
- Ability to pass basic lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
- Must maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups.
