Job Summary
Observe swimmers and respond quickly to emergencies while enforcing safety regulations and maintaining a clean pool environment. Report equipment defects, facility issues, and safety concerns under the direction of the Lead Lifeguard. Maintain a professional attitude and attend required staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. This part-time role includes evenings and weekends and requires proficiency in swimming, treading water with a brick for five minutes, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Candidates must hold current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR Pro, and Lifeguard certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid (or equivalent Title 22 certification)
- Current certifications in CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro)
- Current certifications in Lifeguard Training (equivalent certifications may be accepted)
- Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance
- Ability to tread water while holding a brick for 5 minutes
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
