Job Summary
Conduct constant surveillance of the entire pool area to guard swimmer safety and direct behavior to ensure rule compliance. Provide emergency lifesaving assistance, including CPR and first aid, while contacting medical services and staying with victims until help arrives. Teach swimming lesson classes, maintain attendance records, and mail certification cards. Maintain pool cleanliness by vacuuming, scrubbing, backwashing filters, and testing chemical levels for chlorine, bromine, and pH balance. Manage pool area neatness, collect trash, and keep the office orderly. Requires Red Cross lifeguard and water safety instructor certifications, plus two years of lifeguarding and teaching experience. Part-time schedule of 27.5 hours per week Monday through Saturday.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years' experience working as a Lifeguard and teaching swimming lessons
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills or abilities
- Red Cross Certified Lifeguard
- Red Cross Certified Water Safety Instructor
- C.P.R. and First Aid Certification
