Job Summary
Lifeguard maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck, and surrounding areas and provides continuous scanning of the pool and aquatic area. Duties include enforcing safety rules, performing water rescue and emergency response, completing reports, and maintaining records per YMCA policies and health codes. Requires the ability to perform lifeguard skills (CPR, rescue, first aid), communicate with staff and members, and participate in trainings; shift-based, part-time role with a focus on member safety and engagement within YMCA facilities.
Required Qualifications
- MANDATORY CERTIFICATIONS: Current YMCA Lifeguarding, American Safety & Health Institute or American Red Cross or American Heart Association BLS for the Professional Rescuer, Standard/Community First Aid certifications and Emergency Oxygen Administration.
