Job Summary

Lifecycle Marketing Manager at Mixlab owns the lifecycle and retention marketing end-to-end, from strategy and journey architecture in Iterable to email and SMS campaigns that engage pet parents between purchases. Responsibilities include auditing journeys, designing automated flows (welcome, activation, refill, win-back, loyalty), developing segmentation, establishing testing cadence, expanding Iterable to transactional communications, monitoring performance, and reporting KPIs. Responsibilities also cover end-to-end production of consumer-facing email and SMS content, maintaining brand voice, collaborating on campaigns and calendar, leveraging AI tools to accelerate content, and analytics with BI tools to drive retention. Skills emphasized include hands-on marketing automation, strong copywriting and design for emails, AI-enabled content production, deliverability and IP warming, data-driven optimization, and cross-functional collaboration in a startup/high-growth environment.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in lifecycle, retention or email marketing with hands-on experience building automations yourself
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a marketing automation platform (Iterable strongly preferred; Klaviyo, Braze, or similar also considered)
  • Working knowledge of email deliverability, IP warming and channel infrastructure
  • Strong copywriting skills. You can write a compelling subject line and a full nurture sequence without a lot of hand-holding
  • Hands-on email design experience. You’re comfortable owning the full production process from copy to send with minimal creative support
  • Fluency with AI tools as part of your day-to-day workflow. You use them to move faster and think better, not just as a novelty
  • Analytical enough to own your own reporting: comfortable pulling data, identifying what’s working and presenting findings clearly
  • Highly organized with strong project management instincts. You can manage multiple journeys, campaigns and priorities without dropping things
  • Experience working in a startup or high-growth environment where you’ve had to build from scratch
  • Collaborative mindset; you’re comfortable working cross-functionally and don’t need a big team to do great work
